The IB2 Theft Prevention System consists of many layers of protection:
Basic protection:
Multiple Sold Secure Gold U-locks
Bicycle Registration
"DNA"-marking
GPS tracking
Alarm of at least 100db
Immediate alert with police forwarding
Apply your IB2 stickers in all parts
Paint over the brand if it's a recognizable one
Take plenty of photos before and after modifications
Take clearly readable photos of all serial numbers
Keep your invoice/receipt safely stored, make a digital copy
Preventative measures
- Lock your bike correctly, preferably with the frame and both wheels tightly secured to a fixed object.
- Keep the market value low. We don't recommend leaving bicycles that can be sold for more than 200 euros locked on the street.
- Always remove the battery and seat to keep the market value down.
Additional protection:
- Paint/engrave your IB2 number and QR code in all parts
- Add custom stickers and painting (hundreds), especially in unreachable surfaces
- Replace stock parts by cheaper parts
- Use Pitlock or Hexlock on the wheels, seatpost and stem
- Install custom and unique spokes and tires
Jurisdiction-dependent (check legality in your country, use at your own risk):
- "Skunk" locks (that release gas when broken)
- Hidden camera recording
- "Active" remote theft prevention mechanisms
